Who we are

Twogenerations,
onefarm.

Founded in 1998 by Brian Schoonjans. Today his sons Jake and Evan lead agronomy and logistics. We farm the way we sell — straight, careful, and with our name on every decision.

Our story

Started with a truck.
Grew with the people.

Brian Schoonjans grew up on a family hog farm in Plympton Township. He graduated from Ridgetown College in 1992 and spent the next six years learning the seed business from the inside. In 1998, with a used pickup, a rented shed and what he calls “more belief than bank balance,” he launched his Pioneer® agency.

The first season meant hauling bags by hand and a phone that rang because Brian had walked the fields personally. The philosophy hasn’t changed since: do the work, tell the truth, walk the field. Twenty-seven years later we operate a 150-acre farm, a 6,000 sq. ft. warehouse, multiple bulk bins, high-capacity tenders, drone scouting, and a custom seed treatment line installed in 2025.

The next generation isn’t a future plan — it’s already here. Brian’s sons Jake and Evan run agronomy and seed logistics respectively, and Brad Goodhill brings decades of trusted relationships to the sales side. Same name on the door. Same handshake.

“People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
